COA Votes to Continue Survey Plan Discussion
Council on Aging · Meeting of May 20, 2026
Groveland's Council on Aging board debates how to bring survey findings on older adults to town leaders. Director Alyssa Lee reported the agency has received about 97 percent of projected revenue this fiscal year, with pantry visits reaching 141 in April and eight new participants joining COA programs. The board's NEET transportation program ran on a $480 usage fee covering 276 resident trips, backed by volunteer drivers who logged 5,800 miles and 330 hours.
Larry McEllenney, president of the Friends of the Groveland Council on Aging, said the group raised more than $2,000 this month through a yard sale that grew from 33 to 46 sites and a community concert, with River's Edge Credit Union covering concert costs. Board members noted that roughly one-third of Groveland's population is now 60 or older and discussed scheduling a June 10 planning session to shape a presentation of community survey results for the Select Board.
