Groveland COA Reelects Full Slate of Officers
Council on Aging · Meeting of June 17, 2026
Groveland Council on Aging reelects full officer slate, adds medical-emergency refund rule. The board unanimously kept Sharon Hines as chair, Barbara Sanborn as vice chair, Deb Stevenson as treasurer and Irene Thomas as secretary. Director Alyssa Lee said the council logged about 1,500 service interactions in May, including 120 pantry visits and 180 van rides, and formalized a policy letting the council "review the situation and offer a refund or credit when appropriate" after medical emergencies.
Friends of the Groveland Council on Aging president Larry McEllany said a donor will match penny-drive donations two dollars for every dollar collected. More than 80 people had registered for Saturday's Engagement Celebration Symposium, featuring keynote speaker Dr. John Ziesel, author of "I'm Still Here."
