Select Board Adopts FY27 Goals, Backs Lake Grant
Select Board · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Hamilton Select Board adopts FY27 goals, begins mapping a $2.2 million one-time windfall. Town Manager Joe said the sum, drawn from cell tower proceeds, Gordon-Conwell payments and a pending $1.1 million Patten Homestead sale, could fund capital work like the Patten Park master plan without new taxes or borrowing. The board voted unanimously to support a $95,000 DEP grant application from the Chebacco Lake Watershed Association, whose president, Dave Lash, said 171 aging septic systems around the lake are driving phosphorus problems he called "a boomerang effect." Public Works Director Tim Olson reported the renovated Town Hall is a few months behind schedule but on budget, calling it "a win-win for us." The board also appointed sophomore Noah Del Santia as student representative to the Human Rights Commission and heard the Community Preservation Committee report $721,322 in fiscal 2026 revenue.
