Select Board suspends four liquor licenses
Select Board · Meeting of October 6, 2026
Danvers Select Board splits 3-2 on liquor suspension, bans parking on Park Street for safety. Acting on a July 27 sting that caught four establishments selling to a minor, the board voted 4-1 to suspend Torito Mexican Restaurant's license three days and split 3-2 to hold Cappy's Fine Wine and Spirits' new suspension fully in abeyance over member Gardner Trask's objection that doing so is "taking a step backward." J&J Asian Cuisine and Lounge and 466 Pub & Grill each got one-day suspensions held in abeyance through October 13, 2027, on 5-0 votes. Separately, after Park Street residents described years of unenforced parking rules and a neighbor dispute that escalated into vandalism, the board voted 5-0 to bar parking on both sides of the street between High and Berry streets.
The board also approved lowering Dayton Street's speed limit from 40 mph to 30 mph and adopted a Breast Cancer Awareness Month proclamation 5-0.
