Saugus Library Board Approves Lost-and-Found Policy, Selects Renovation Contractors

Saugus Public Library Board of Trustees approves lost-and-found policy and locks in contractors for building renovation. At the June 11 meeting, Library Director Alan Thiebaud announced that BRA USA of Somerville was selected to repaint the library, tentatively during the week of October 19, 2026, and that Pavilion Floors of Woburn will recarpet the building in February or March of 2027. The combined cost is estimated at $110,000 to $120,000, to be paid from the library's state aid account, which currently holds approximately $258,000.

The board unanimously approved a new lost-and-found policy requiring found items to be tagged and held 14 days, with high-value unclaimed property such as phones and wallets turned over to Saugus police. Thiebaud also reported that 97.5 percent of this year's state aid allocation has been expended and that summer reading programs begin June 22 under the theme "got to read them all."
