Saugus Board of Health unanimously renews environmental oversight contract while ordering a search for groundwater testing at the Wheelabrator monofill. Public Health Director John R.

Fralick, III will simultaneously research third-party water quality firms after board members and a public commenter questioned whether leachate is escaping the landfill's 1990s clay slurry wall into nearby marshland. Board member Joseph Dorant read into the record a resident complaint forwarded by a state representative, noting that the Bristow Street air quality monitoring station was the only yellow-rated site in Massachusetts on May 9.
