Board of Health Hires Collins as Health Agent
Board of Health · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Groveland Board of Health hires Collins as health agent after 14-month vacancy. The three-member board voted unanimously Tuesday to offer the job to a candidate identified in the meeting as Rudy Collins, a longtime volunteer board member who holds Title 5 septic inspector and soil evaluator licenses. Public Health Nurse Anita Wright told the board the position has sat empty for 14 to 15 months, and members said Collins will lean on a Salem-based regional training grant to get up to speed on septic plan reviews.
The board also cleared backlogged minutes from April 16 and July 15 by 3-0 votes and flagged that its written regulations have not been updated since 1997, including an outdated private-well water test. Wright reported the region remains at "moderate risk" for West Nile virus, with ticks "still a major issue" heading into fall.
