Groveland Finance Committee elects Haywood chair, approves $2,500 building department transfer
Finance Committee · Meeting of July 8, 2026
Groveland Finance Committee reorganized, approved a $2,500 transfer, and set September as its next meeting date. Adam Haywood was unanimously elected chair at the July 8 meeting, succeeding a former chair described as no longer on the committee; Mark was elected vice chair and Brian was named secretary. The committee approved a $2,500 transfer from the health insurance line to the building department's inspectional services budget to cover costs from an extended inspector illness — which triggered per-inspection payments of $50 each to an alternate inspector — and a shortfall in Building Commissioner Sam Joslin's mileage and cell-phone reimbursement account after he drew down his expense line to cover costs from a brick digitization grant.
The Select Board had approved the same transfer two days earlier. Two new members, Duncan McNeil and Greg Labreck, were seated at the meeting. The committee's next meeting is scheduled for September 16 at 6 p.m., when the town accountant is expected to present a fiscal year 2026 year-end report.
