Planning Board · Meeting of September 3, 2026

PEABODY — The Peabody Planning Board voted 6-0 to recommend rezoning two Lake Street parcels from residential to business use. Attorney John Kelty, representing Lake Street LLC, told the board the parcels at 0 and 30 Lake Street were listed as Business Neighborhood in 2017 assessor's records and a recorded subdivision plan, but a later zoning map revision mistakenly shifted them to R1, calling it "a clerical error of sorts." Resident Randolph Blunt submitted a written objection dated August 23, which the board accepted into the record, but no one spoke against the change in person. Board members Joseph Gagnon, Judith Otto Cacciotti, John Ford, Roy Simos, Jeff Saliba and Thomas Betancourt all voted yes on the roll call.

Kelty said the City Council is expected to hold its own hearing on the amendment September 24.
