Middleton's Planning Board approved a $330,000 bond and released eight lots in the Ridgewood Estates subdivision's Phase IV. The board also unanimously endorsed a lot-consolidation plan at 200 North Main Street for owner Andrew Schwartz, presented by engineer Chris Spiragis of Williams and Spiragis. Members accepted a covenant with Beech Brook Development LLC, dated September 28, 2026, setting a November 1, 2027 completion date, and continued that hearing to November 18.
Planning Director Anna Bury Carmer updated a North Main Street Corridor Study recommending a front setback cut from 100 to 50 feet and a small Central Business Overlay District. The board then opened a joint hearing with the Zoning Board of Appeals and Bylaw Review Committee, which elected Justin Bingham chair, on a parking bylaw rewrite drawing debate over compact spaces and restaurant ratios; one member called enforcement of compact-space rules unworkable, asking, "Is there someone going to come out and tow your car?"
