Planning Board Adopts Dark Sky Bylaw Appendix
Planning Board · Meeting of August 4, 2026
Hamilton Planning Board hears Harborlight's affordable housing lottery plan and advances a dark sky bylaw. Senior Operations Manager Anna Cicic detailed the lottery for Asbury Commons, a 45-unit development where 31 units carry local preference for Hamilton residents, workers and school families; applications are due September 1, with the lottery drawing October 6. Local funding, including town HOME, CPC and affordable housing trust dollars, totaled $800,000 toward the project.
"This is a really amazing opportunity for Hamilton residents," Cicic said. The board also voted unanimously to amend the 2024 master plan, adding a new appendix to track a future dark sky lighting bylaw being developed by a resident steering committee. Separately, members reviewed a backlog of zoning rewrites, including a conservation subdivision bylaw, undefined terms like "lot coverage," and required variance-law updates under Chapter 40A, targeted for next April's Town Meeting.
