Lynn Sets July 1 Deadline to Pull Flavored Vape Products

Lynn Board of Health delays ruling on a retailer's flavored-vape violation, sets July 1 enforcement deadline citywide. Joyce, presenting the city's tobacco enforcement update, told the board only 24 of 39 FDA-authorized vape products and four of 20 nicotine pouch products meet Massachusetts' flavor restrictions, and that letters will go to all permit holders in May requiring removal of noncompliant items before enforcement begins. Tehans Patel, a partner at the store Family Corner, disputed a $2,000 ticket tied to a charcoal hookah product, saying "I have only problem to ask the question, I should not get a $2,000 ticket." The board tabled its ruling pending an in-store inspection.

Separately, the division soft-launched a live-translation tool for meetings, and staff reported a $100,000 MassDOT transit grant and $250,000 in opioid-settlement funds for youth employment.
