Select Board · Meeting of August 31, 2026

Groveland Select Board votes 3-1 to restrict e-bikes and scooters on town land starting September 14. The board also approved sending a letter seeking state legislation to release the Wood Street parcel from Article 97 protection, and authorized up to $2,303 from the Sullivan Trust Funds, which holds $468,359, to repair a library door crash bar. Member Kathleen Kastrinelis presented data showing Groveland pays about 4 percent of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School's combined budget against 5 percent of its student enrollment, warning "it's not a good deal" for taxpayers if capital costs stay disproportionate.

Whittier Superintendent Marian Lynch said a new regional agreement is essential before the district's building project can advance, calling it "a generational kind of a project." The board also declined to purchase an affordable unit at 28 Groveland Commons Way and appointed member Jason Naves to the Planning Board as an associate member.
