Select Board · Meeting of October 21, 2026
NAHANT — The Nahant Select Board voted unanimously to close its meeting behind closed doors to weigh litigation strategy over Northeastern University's Marine Science Center at 430 Nahant Road. Before that, members approved eight one-year lobster trap storage leases running through August 2027 and six new call firefighter appointments, including Andrew Cormier and Christopher Cresta. Town Administrator Allison told the board Tuesday's Special Town Meeting on a $1 million transfer from Coast Guard housing proceeds for the library project passed "overwhelmingly" with overflow attendance, and relayed resident feedback that parents of young children face barriers attending town meeting.
Allison also said the town's residential water meter replacement, run by vendor Hydro Utilities, launches next month with postcards mailed to every resident. No residents spoke during citizens' comment.
