Wenham Select Board approved a level-service fiscal 2028 budget directive and a new meeting-posting policy, both by 5-0 votes. Town Administrator Steve Poulos told the board free cash is estimated between $2 million and $2.3 million, and confirmed the fiscal 2028 plan carries the final year of a three-year, 3 percent annual cost-of-living adjustment for non-union employees matched to union contract terms. The Wenham Council on Aging, represented by Jim Purdy and Jeannie Moran, reported 2,200 rides and 1,800 program visits in fiscal 2026, serving a population Purdy said makes up "a third of Wenham." The board confirmed Annual Town Meeting is set for April 1, 2027, and will hear from the Water Commission on PFAS remediation options November 10.
