Board of Selectmen · Meeting of January 27, 2026

SAUGUS — The Saugus Board of Selectmen voted 5-0 to authorize up to $6,030,500 in bonds for sewer rehabilitation along the Saugus River. Finance Director and Treasurer Collector Wendy Hatch said the town budgeted $2,330,234 for an interim, zero-interest, 20-year loan from the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust, covering streets between Elm and Auburn streets. Town Manager Scott Crabtree said the town has fixed roughly 14 of 26 identified sewer substations under a state consent order.

The board also voted 5-0 to transfer Ken's Car Care's Class II auto license at 128 Ballard Street to new owner Gerson Argueta, and unanimously approved three board appointments. Crabtree told the board the recent snowstorm was "the eighth largest snowfall that we've had on record," with more than 20 inches falling and over 70 regional schools closed.
