Board of Health Denies 7-Eleven Flavor Appeal
Other Committee · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Lynn Board of Health denies 7-Eleven's flavored-tobacco appeal, upholds $1,000 fine at second store. A compliance check found a Zin Chill nicotine pouch available for sale at the 7-Eleven on 3 Linfield Street, a product the city told retailers in May to remove ahead of a July 1 state flavor-ban deadline; the board voted unanimously to deny the store's appeal after representative Mazir argued "nobody" gave retailers a clear list of banned items. New World Liquors, on Broadway, drew a $1,000 fine and three-day suspension for selling a $10.61 nicotine pouch to a minor, with representative Naresh not disputing the violation; the board moved his suspension to September 27-29.
Two other retailers, ShopQuick and Richdale, had appeals pushed to the board's October 6 meeting. The board also got a briefing on moderate West Nile virus risk and Robert's Rules of Order training from Assistant City Solicitor Pete Christopher.
