Select Board · Meeting of October 19, 2026
Hamilton's Select Board sorted through $2.8 million in one-time town revenue and tabled a tennis-court sign request for lack of a majority. Assistant Town Manager and Finance Director Wendy Markiewicz detailed $772,335 in fiscal 2026 one-time revenue and a projected $2,065,824 in fiscal 2027, including $715,824 tied to the 2015 sale of Patton Ridge that may carry legal spending restrictions. Chair William Olson said the board needs a legal opinion to "construct the article in order to get a vote" on those funds.
The board voted 3-0 to appoint attorney Bill Bowler to the Zoning Board of Appeals and 3-0 to schedule a Friday session with Police Chief Guy on closing Union Street for Halloween, after resident Amy Wallach presented 111 signatures. Board Member Benjamin Galuza abstained on a League of Women Voters sign request, calling the lack of a clear town sign policy "a failure on our part," leaving the board without a majority to approve it.
