Select Board · Meeting of June 17, 2026
Nahant Select Board adopted an interim parking policy and voted to form a parking committee ahead of summer. The board, Patty Karas, Pat O'Reilly and Rob Thibault, voted 3-0 to approve the policy while authorizing the town administrator to begin committee appointments after Karas objected that routine guest visits shouldn't require calling police, saying "I can't imagine inundating the police department if someone just wants to have a guest at their home." The board also voted 3-0 to name Mariana Raworth harbor master, extending her probation from six months to a full year through June 30, 2027. Town Counsel Dan Scripps reported a preliminary injunction, in effect since Monday, now bars short-term rentals at 47 Little Nahant Road until a November hearing.
Voters decide a $1 million operating override and a charter amendment June 24, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall.
