Select Board · Meeting of February 3, 2026

Wenham's Select Board approved a liquor license and opened budget talks on a $600,000 capital plan and a one-board-seat rule. The board voted 5-0 to approve a one-day liquor license for First Church in Wenham's February 7 fundraiser. In a joint session with the Finance Committee, Town Administrator Steve Poulos outlined a recommended $600,000 fiscal 2027 capital program against roughly $1.8 million in available free cash, including deferring a new ambulance for a $86,000 pickup truck.

Police Chief DiNapoli pushed for funding to fix a victim interview room he said is "not totally just" cosmetic, citing a cracked concrete floor and non-functioning recording equipment. Officials also debated barring residents from serving on more than one elected board and weighed moving April 11's town meeting after Gordon College's venue fell through. Capital and budget votes are expected February 24.
