Middleton's Select Board approved a side letter updating its 1997 water-sharing agreement with Danvers, setting new conservation targets and a one-year goal to negotiate a full replacement agreement. Town Administrator Justin Sultzbach said the letter sets a residential water-use target of "51 residential gallons per day" over five years and creates a voluntary irrigation-system registry. The board also unanimously approved Finance Director Sarah Wood's contract for fiscal 2028 and 2029, and heard the town won the Government Finance Officers Association budget award for the sixth consecutive year.
The board appointed Linda Richards to the Zoning Board of Appeals through June 2028, approved warrant 2709 covering $986,344 in payroll, and voted 4-0, with one member recusing, to enter executive session on the Sampson v. Middleton litigation.
