Select Board · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Groveland Select Board adopts a formal grievance process for its Right to Farm bylaw. The unanimous vote, amended to strike a "voluntary mitigation" recommendation clause after member Jason Naves warned an unclear process "could potentially create more confusion," creates the town's first structured path for neighbor disputes over hobby farms. The board also cut early in-person voting hours by half for the first week before the November 3 election, a request from Town Clerk Jennifer Peterson following a $968 primary week that drew just 100 in-person voters against 1,200 mail ballots.

Council on Aging Director Alyssa Lee, departing her post at month's end, presented survey results showing 63 percent of 504 respondents called remaining in Groveland "very important." Member Kathleen Kastrinelis cited the town's new 200-unit 40B complex in questioning a proposed housing trust. The board also approved a mobile coffee trailer permit and sponsored a Town Hall courtyard preservation project.
