Board of Selectmen · Meeting of April 21, 2026
Saugus selectmen approved a $351,000 fiscal 2027 budget for Saugus Cable TV and granted a special permit for a new tattoo studio on Broadway. The board, chaired by Debra Panetta, voted 5-0 on the Saugus Cable TV budget after vice president Bill Ferrengo called it a "significant decrease from last year," and added $30,000 for capital repairs. It also approved, 5-0, a special permit for Matthew Stahura's Mind's Eye Tattoo Company, no-parking and sign changes near Belmonte School, two-hour parking on Central Street, a common victualer license for Anna Zelenko's Ava Pizza, and a livery license for Nebu Mogas's Blue Nile Livery.
A second livery bid, from Sukhinder Singh's Zerawah Transportation, was continued to June after neighbors Bob Jackson and Patricia Jackson questioned traffic cutting through onto Jefferson Avenue. Selectman Michael Serino said a proposed 700-megawatt battery storage plant near the Saugus-Revere line would sit "only 20 feet away from the town property line" and pushed for a letter to state lawmakers on mandatory setbacks.
