Posting error blocks votes at Lynn Disability Commission meeting
Other Committee · Meeting of April 7, 2026
Lynn Disability Commission stalls on votes after agenda posting error, sets special meeting. Because Tuesday's agenda wasn't posted in time, the commission could only discuss, not approve, a $2,500 sponsorship request from Lisa Nurek, associate commissioner of DPW Parks and Recreation, to support a swim program for 30 to 40 special-education children starting April 25 — a program Nurek said was "well filled out the first week." Members also weighed funding for the annual Special Games, drawing more than 500 special-education students to Manning Field, and heard from community transportation coordinator Nick that the city is pursuing a $125,000 grant for an ADA self-assessment and transition plan, with applications due May 14. A special Zoom meeting was set for April 14 so the commission can formally vote on the items.
