Lynn Disability Commission revotes on $15,400 in sponsorships

Other Committee · Meeting of April 14, 2026

Lynn Disability Commission redoes two votes after an open-meeting notice scare. Chair Rachelle Waterman-Williams called the special session after the commission could not confirm its April 7 agenda met the state's 48-hour posting requirement, saying "we couldn't immediately confirm whether that requirement was met or not." Members Waterman-Williams, Tracy Lindsey, Patty Capano and Megan Gonzalez voted 4-0 to accept a $12,900 sponsorship for the 2026 special education swim program and, on a second 4-0 roll call, backed a $2,500 sponsorship of the Lynn Special Games' 56th anniversary event, set for May 13, 2026. The requests came from Lisa Narich of the city's Parks and Recreation division.

No public comment was offered, and the panel noted three mayoral appointees to the commission were before the City Council that same night.
