Planning Board · Meeting of October 6, 2026
Groveland's Planning Board cleared a plant shop to open and began weighing new data center zoning rules. The board unanimously waived site plan review for Garden Getty, a retail plants-and-flowers shop replacing a former gas station at 301 Main Street, and sent a family's request to adjust a lot line at 528 Main Street to formal subdivision review instead, after Town Planner Jon Sullivan found the parcels fell short of required frontage. Consultant Supriya Kielkar of Innes Land Strategies Group presented three reuse concepts for the vacant town-owned mill at 46 Washington Street, work funded by state and Community Preservation Act money.
Sullivan relayed a utility estimate that a 480,000-kilowatt-a-day data center would require costly electrical upgrades, warning "the low-frequency noises that they produce can travel up to five miles." The board also revisited a years-old Homestead Lane buffer-zone dispute, planning a site visit after an abutter disputed claims of permanent boundary markers.
