North Andover Volleyball Tops Beverly, Student Says at Meeting

NORTH ANDOVER --

HIGH SCHOOL -- North Andover High School hosted a home football game Oct. 9 with a "blackout" theme, following the team's season-opening home game last month. At the Oct. 8 School Committee meeting, members asked whether student conduct at the home game had been a concern, following issues raised earlier in the fall season; a school official said they had "heard no concerns about behavior at the home football game." A student representative to the School Committee also reported that the volleyball team had "just won our game against Beverly," though she said she was not yet cleared to play herself.

COMMUNITY -- The Knights on the Run event took place Oct. 10 at North Andover High School, sponsored by the NAAA. The event opened with a Kids Fun Run followed by a traditional 5K. Thompson School has held the record for the most participation in the event for roughly seven years running, according to School Committee members. Merrimack College cross-country athletes helped out at the event, and North Andover athletes, including the high school track coach, took part either as volunteers or runners.
