Lynn License Commission approves two new all-alcohol licenses and a lodging house ownership transfer. Commissioners Miguel Funes and Margaret Phelps, with police liaison Lieutenant Tim Donovan, approved licenses for Origin's Cafe LLC at 541 Chestnut Street and Juan Parrilla Bar and Grill at 877 Western Avenue, the latter reopening under Daniel Surian as night manager with a 99-person capacity. The board approved a 33 High Street lodging house transfer to Rob McCashian from longtime owner Mike Halliotis, and a new common victualer license for the Nigerian and African restaurant Kokomo at 56 Central Square.

Commissioners also held licensing conferences with several bar and restaurant operators over recent police-reported incidents, including a January assault at Green Tea and a February parking dispute involving a Monroe Street restaurant, accepting each explanation for the file while reminding operators to "call the police" immediately when confrontations occur.
