Groveland Select Board releases $29,000 from Sullivan trust for library window and door repairs

GROVELAND — January 20, 2026 — Groveland Select Board unanimously releases $29,000 for library repairs and approves two volunteer appointments. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to draw $29,000 from the Francis W. Sullivan Charitable Remainder Trust — a roughly $495,818 donation held for Langley Adams Library — to replace two bay windows, a back door, and a back window at the facility. Town Administrator Rebecca Haas-Gosselin told the board the larger capital needs, including $1.8 million in roofing and $800,000 in electrical upgrades across the town complex, are being addressed through a separate borrowing strategy aimed at avoiding a taxpayer override. The board also voted unanimously to appoint Lee Thomas to the Historic Commission through June 30, 2028, and Emilio Dunn to the Finance Board through June 30, 2026, and approved 4-0 (with one abstention) a special event permit for Stephanie Gilmott to hold a Sweet Paws Dog Rescue adoption fair at Pines Recreation Area on July 18.
