Ferncroft Country Club Wins Annual Liquor License, New Manager Approved
MIDDLETON — June 23, 2026 — Middleton Select Board approves Ferncroft Country Club liquor license overhaul and a $143,773 ambulance write-off. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to convert one of the country club's seasonal licenses to an annual license, rename the affected venue the Members Lounge at the Bath and Tennis Center, install Steven John Coore as manager of record on all three club licenses, and set new serving hours of 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday — hours Attorney Jill Mann noted are actually shorter than the existing 1 a.m. close on the club's main annual license. Two abutters on Augusta Way raised concerns about outdoor entertainment noise following a June 19 event, prompting the board to secure a commitment from Mann to return July 21 with a common victuallers license and entertainment license for the new facility, where outdoor hour restrictions can be formally imposed. The board separately authorized Director of Finance Sarah Wood to write off $143,773.92 in fiscal year 2023 ambulance receivables across 91 bills, with Wood noting only about 0.02 percent of accounts at the three-year mark are ever recovered.
