Select Board · Meeting of November 4, 2026

Nahant's Select Board approved the Stantec Castle Road sidewalk plan after rejecting an alternative. The board carried the motion approving Stantec project 1794-119, dated August 2, 2024, over objections that the original land sales were improper. Mr. O'Reilly's amendment, which would have sent Town Counsel to prepare a Town Meeting article to reacquire up to 40 feet of road with a January 6, 2027, report date, failed.

Planning Board chair Anne-Marie Grady called the design "very unsafe," citing a 4-foot sidewalk. An official said stop signs will go in at the intersection, and a member expected a petition for a special Town Meeting.
