GROVELAND — March 26, 2026 — Groveland Conservation Commission endorses Beezy Park rental articles and moves to fill park cleaner vacancy. At a special meeting Thursday, the five-member board voted unanimously — 5-0 on each article — to support two annual town meeting warrant articles formalizing rental arrangements at Beezy Park, located at 199 and 201 Washington Street, after Chair Michael Dempsey disputed town administrator guidance suggesting the commission lacked jurisdiction to weigh in. One article would authorize the Select Board to lease the property's three residential units; the second would authorize the commission itself to rent on-site buildings for short-term events such as weddings, funerals, and summer programs. Both measures stem from a legal review finding that existing arrangements do not comply with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30B. The commission also voted 4-0 to appoint an interview subcommittee — Dempsey, Stephanie Bartelt, and park director Vanessa Lopez, with Richard York as alternate — to fill a part-time cleaner position vacant for roughly six months, with a hiring recommendation expected at the April 8 regular meeting.
