Groveland's Conservation Commission fined a riverside property owner $1,200 and granted a utility waiver.
Conservation · Meeting of October 14, 2026
Groveland's Conservation Commission fined a riverside property owner $1,200 and granted a utility waiver. Commissioners unanimously fined the owner of 301 Main Street, the former Groveland Getty station, $300 per day over two violations for moving earth near the riverbank without erosion controls or a pre-construction meeting. The board also unanimously granted TRC, representing National Grid, a seasonal waiver at $200 a day for up to three weeks to trench conduit near wetlands at the 209 King Street substation starting November 2.
A contested hearing on a proposed garage and accessory structure at 16 Evergreen Lane was continued to November 10 after commissioners worried about "set[ting] a precedent" for construction inside the 75-foot no-build zone. The applicant said he has already spent "20 grand" on site plans and engineering. A special hearing was also scheduled for October 26 to resolve a missed-notice issue on a Manor Drive driveway repaving request tied to a November 1 refinancing deadline.
