Conservation Board Adopts Rewritten Wetland Rules
Conservation · Meeting of September 22, 2026
North Andover Conservation Commission adopts rewritten wetland protection regulations after weeks of line-by-line review. The panel voted unanimously to approve the amended rules, incorporating a last-minute addition after resident Melinda Perrone of 65 Meadowood Road told the board the town's riverfront map omits the Scug River and Emerson Brook, waterways she said carry nearly half of North Andover's watershed toward the Ipswich River. The commission also closed a Certificate of Compliance at 303 Chestnut Street, approved an 8-by-12 shed at 27 Hepatica Drive, and issued a negative determination for a septic upgrade at 216 Ray Street, all unanimous.
A notice of intent for deck and sunroom work at 260 Carlton Lane and an enforcement order at 449 Summer Street were both continued to October 14. The panel also agreed to form a subcommittee on the town's cash-only bonding policy, with Commissioner Brad among the volunteers.
