Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Danvers Zoning Board of Appeals continued a Lowe's outdoor storage expansion case to November 9 after members said the request was still too large. Board members Kevin Berich and John Boughner said the store's ask for roughly 26,500 additional square feet of outdoor storage, display and seasonal mulch space, on top of 13,000 to 14,600 square feet already granted, exceeded what they could support. Berich said he saw "no public benefit factors to weigh that potential detriment against." Resident Brian Edmunds told the board the store's 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. delivery window overlapped with "living hours" for neighboring condominium residents.
Planning Director Brian Szekely confirmed the legal notice cited the store's noncompliance with Section 30 of the zoning bylaw's retail display standards. The continuance passed on a unanimous voice vote with no recorded opposition.
