Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of July 20, 2026

PEABODY — The Peabody Zoning Board of Appeals approved five variances and continued an enforcement dispute over unpermitted structures at 4 Meredith Road to September 21. Attorney Brian McGrail, representing trustee James G. Ferraro, asked for more time to finish a land survey; a board member warned "if it's not cleared up," the board will vote on the matter regardless. The board capped a Murdock Drive pool cabana at 250 square feet, approved an accessory dwelling unit at 11 Lynch Street for applicant Sharon Carney, and cleared addition and deck variances at 2 Danforth Street and 3 Reynolds Road.

In a case remanded from Essex Superior Court, the board voted 5-0 to approve a redesigned auto dealership at 256 Newbury Street for owners Bill and Glenn Cole, increasing the rear-yard setback relief to 14.5 feet from 4.5 feet in the original variance.
