Lynn zoning board continues 34-bed Grace House sober-home hearing to June 16 after packed, contentious meeting. City Councilor Brian Field, who chairs the council's opioid subcommittee, told the board a facility "in the 40s or even 30s" doesn't match the dignity owed to residents or fairness to the neighborhood. Attorney Stephanie Kiefer said Grace House LLC cut its request from 40 to 34 beds and would cap resident car ownership at eight through occupancy contracts, but board members said a proposed stacked-parking layout "is not going to work" and demanded a certified, engineer-stamped parking plan before deciding.

More than 20 neighbors, many from Amory Street, opposed the project over school proximity and traffic; two sober-home operators spoke in favor. In other business, the board unanimously dismissed an appeal of the approved 10 High Street 68-unit building, granted a special permit for a six-unit rebuild at 330-334 Chatham Street, allowed a 29 Ford Street variance petition to be withdrawn without prejudice, and continued a 206 Ocean Street deck-setback case to June 16.
