Zoning Board · Meeting of October 22, 2026

LYNN — The Lynn Zoning Board of Appeals continued three multifamily housing proposals and approved three smaller projects at its October 22 meeting. Attorney AJ Capano, representing a proposed three-family development at 72 Woodman Street, said the project would generate "over $30,000" in inclusionary housing fees, but board members continued the case to November 17 over concerns a shared driveway would put an existing deck in a snowplow's path. The board also continued a 60 Grove Street lot-division variance, which attorney Vitali said would net three new housing units, and an 11 Chapman Place rear-yard variance, after abutter Arnoldo Velazquez described decade-long pest problems from the overgrown lot.

The board unanimously granted a variance for a 420-square-foot addition at 9-1R River Street, backed by Ward 7 Councilor Jordan Davey, and approved special permits for a Spanish-language services office at 313 Eastern Avenue, limited to appointment-only hours, and attic dormers at 105 Empire Street, with no kitchen permitted in the new space.
