Water · Meeting of June 15, 2026

LYNN — The Lynn Water and Sewer Commission approved its FY2027 operating budget, capital plan and rate schedule on 3-0 roll-call votes, with two commissioners absent. The capital plan appropriates $35,152,677 for the CSO 05 sewer separation project, with $32,170,438 eligible for state revolving fund financing. Auditor Chris Powell of Whitbrook reported a clean, unmodified audit opinion and, for the first time in several years, "no finding on internal controls." Staff said reservoir capacity has fallen to 67.8 percent, about 15 percent below the seasonal average, prompting lawn-watering restrictions and a planned public outreach push.

The commission also voted to form a new finance subcommittee and heard farewell remarks from Commissioner Vinny, who is leaving the board after about eight years.
