State Budget Directs $175,000 to Lynnfield Projects

LYNNFIELD — The fiscal year 2027 state budget includes $175,000 earmarked for Lynnfield-specific projects and raises the town's Chapter 70 education aid and unrestricted local aid, according to the office of House Minority Leader Brad Jones.

TOWN HALL The budget line items, released this week by Jones' office, direct new state money toward Lynnfield projects on top of increased Chapter 70 school funding and unrestricted local aid — two of the largest annual state revenue sources for the town and district. Specific project allocations were not itemized in the release.

Separately, the town is seeking residents to fill a vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees, according to a notice posted on the town's website. Residents interested in serving can find application details through the town's News & Notices page.
