Saugus Library Kicks Off Summer Reading Week With Free Enrichment Programs

SAUGUS — The town enters the final days of June with no urgent municipal announcements, but the Saugus Public Library has a busy week ahead as its summer programming ramps up.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Saugus Public Library is running its Summer Reading programs for school-age children this week, with free enrichment sessions on Monday, June 29 — one for grades 1 and 2 at 9:30 a.m. and a second for grades 3 through 5 at 10:30 a.m. Both are free and open to registered participants.

The library's popular Summer Concerts at the Iron Works series returns this summer with free outdoor performances at the historic Saugus Iron Works. The next concert is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m., featuring folk duo Atwater and Donnelly. The series was announced in a June 18 library post and continues a summer tradition at one of Saugus's most distinctive historic sites.

Also on July 1, Storytime with Gemma resumes at 10:30 a.m. at the library, offering a weekly program for young children.

Earlier this month, the Board of Library Trustees adopted a new Lost and Found Policy, formalizing procedures for items left at the library. The policy took effect June 11.
