New Rail Trail Proposal Could Reshape Peabody Commutes
A proposed rail trail through Peabody could reshape how residents get to work and school, Peabody Patch reported this morning, while City Hall posted new information for the upcoming state primary election and confirmed the city's 41st International Festival will return downtown this fall.

The City Clerk's office posted information this week for the upcoming Massachusetts state primary election, part of the city's routine preparations ahead of the fall ballot. City Hall also confirmed that Peabody's 41st International Festival will return to downtown on Sept. 27, an annual celebration of the city's cultural diversity.
SCHOOLS
Peabody Public Schools posted a string of dates on its district calendar for the coming year. The School Committee will hold a retreat Aug. 13 at the Wylie Center at Endicott College, followed by a regular School Committee meeting Aug. 25 and an orientation for new teachers Aug. 26. Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year remains open, according to the district's website.
