Methuen vote-by-mail applications begin arriving for 2026 elections
METHUEN — Vote-by-mail applications for the 2026 State Primary and State Election are arriving in mailboxes across Methuen this week, city officials announced, while residents also have a hazardous waste disposal day and a mosquito control application scheduled in the coming days.

The City of Methuen announced that vote-by-mail applications for the 2026 State Primary and State Election are now arriving in residents' mailboxes. Eligible voters can use the postage-paid application to request a ballot for one or both elections, according to the city's News Flash announcement.
In other city business, Methuen will conduct preventive mosquito control applications at parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and school recreation areas on Monday, July 20, from approximately 9 p.m. to midnight, with a rain date of Tuesday, July 21. Separately, the city has opened preregistration for a new curbside composting program run with Black Earth Compost, aimed at reducing household waste. The city also announced a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Community Involvement Meeting scheduled for July 29 to update residents on program funding, and Mayor Neil Perry Beauregard announced legislation intended to eliminate unpaid employee furloughs in fiscal year 2027 while increasing investments in public education.

Methuen residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste this Saturday, July 18, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Transfer Station on Huntington Avenue, though construction debris, trash, recycling, and yard waste will not be accepted, per the city's announcement. The city's calendar also lists a Disability Pride Month Flag Raising Ceremony set for Thursday, July 23, and a Circle of Hope Family Support Group meeting on Monday, July 20.
