Library Launches Free Summer Reading Enrichment Programs This Week

Saugus Public Library kicks off free summer reading enrichment sessions for elementary students this week, while the Board of Assessors prepares to meet Monday as town committees continue summer business.

TOWN HALL

The Board of Assessors is scheduled to meet Monday, July 27, according to the town's online calendar. No other town-wide announcements appeared in the coverage window beyond previously reported infrastructure projects.

SCHOOLS

Saugus Public Schools' website continues to display the FY27 School Committee-approved budget and budget timeline as the district's most recent posted materials, with no new announcements added in this window. Superintendent Michael Hashem's office has not posted additional updates since the FY27 budget materials were published.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Saugus Public Library launches two new free offerings this week: a Free Summer Reading Enrichment Program for grades 1 and 2, and a separate session for grades 3-5, both held Monday, July 27, with the younger group starting at 9:30 a.m. and the older group at 10:30 a.m. The library will be closed Saturday, July 25, and hosts CFCE Storytime for ages 0-6 Friday, July 24, at 9:30 a.m., registration required.

The library's Reading Room continues to display "Forged in Saugus: Donna-Marie Mironchuk" through August, and the Adult and Teen Summer Reading programs, along with the 2026 Pokemon-themed children's summer reading program, remain underway. The library's Yoga Experience program remains on hiatus through August.
