Library Kicks Off Summer Reading Program for Young Students

The Saugus Public Library's summer concert series and youth reading programs headline a relatively quiet 24-48 hours in town, with no major town hall actions reported in the coverage window.

The Saugus Public Library's 2026 Summer Concert series continued this week with the Brian Maes Band, a Lynn-based act, performing at the Iron Works on July 8. The library also opened a new exhibit, "Forged in Saugus: Donna-Marie Mironchuk," on display in the Reading Room through July and August at the library's 295 Central Street location.

Library programming for younger patrons continues with a free Summer Reading Enrichment Program for grades 1 and 2 set for July 13, alongside the ongoing 2026 Summer Reading program themed around Pokemon. The library's regular Yoga Experience class is on hiatus for July and August, with plans to resume in September. The library is also hosting a "Call for Art" open submission for community members.

The Saugus Board of Selectmen meets Tuesday, July 14. The Planning Board meets Thursday, July 16. The Free Summer Reading Enrichment Program for grades 1 and 2 at the Saugus Public Library begins Monday, July 13, at 9:30 a.m. The library is closed Saturday, July 11.
