Haverhill Youth Soccer is enrolling players for its Development and In-Town programs this summer.

HAVERHILL -- Haverhill Youth Soccer, described on its website as a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that traces its roots to Haverhill PAL (Parents Athletic League) in 1961, said it is "currently enrolling" for its Development Program (Pre-K through Grade 2) and In-Town Soccer (Grades 3/4).

YOUTH LEAGUES -- According to the group's program listings, the Development Program runs eight Saturday sessions and costs $100 per player for Pre-K/Kindergarten and $125 per player for Grade 1/2. A TOT Soccer program for 3-year-olds runs six Sunday sessions at $70 per player. The organization's Travel program, for Grades 3-8, fields teams in the Essex County Youth Soccer Association, "designed to offer players with competitive opportunities to develop the necessary abilities to play at the next highest level," per the group. Its Youth Leadership Program is open to students in grades 6-12 who can earn volunteer hours as mentors on Saturdays and Sundays. The group also said tryout links for the Town Select League (TSL), a select-level league formed from players across four to eight towns, are "coming soon," with no cost to register for tryouts.

Separately, Haverhill Youth Soccer posted that pickup soccer at Haverhill High School was canceled "due to weather," though the posting did not specify a date for the affected session.
