Former Lynnfield Librarian Now Leads Swampscott's Public Library

LYNNFIELD — A former Lynnfield Public Library staffer is now leading Swampscott's busy public library and its program calendar, according to a Lynnfield Patch dispatch published today. Closer to home, the town's Department of Public Works is recruiting for several open positions and the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee is seeking new members.

TOWN HALL The Department of Public Works is looking to immediately fill bus driver, truck driver, equipment operator and skilled laborer positions, according to a posting on the town's website. Separately, the town is accepting applications for open seats on the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee, and the DPW has posted notice of town-wide drain structure repairs getting underway. MassDOT and its contractor, McCourt, are also planning a ramp closure on I-95 as part of ongoing highway work, per a traffic alert on the town site.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Lynnfield Public Library has launched a Back to School Drive with Citizens Inn, collecting school supplies for families in need, according to the library's website.
