Ditto Band Returns To Iron Works For Summer Concert Series
The Saugus Public Library's Summer Concert series continues Wednesday evening with the Ditto Band performing on the lawn at the Saugus Iron Works, while a MassCareers job information session at the library Tuesday offers residents a look at state government employment.
TOWN HALL
Recent notices posted to the town's News Flash page reflect the tail end of a busy summer stretch for public works and safety messaging, including National Grid gas main work that began on Main Street at Newhall Avenue and design work starting on the Sewer Subsystem 1D Rehabilitation Project. Town Manager Scott Crabtree also issued advisories this summer regarding air quality and high heat, part of a string of public-safety alerts the Town Manager's office has posted as extreme temperatures moved through the region. Residents can find full details on each notice through the town's "Read on..." links on the municipal homepage.
The Planning Board is scheduled to meet Thursday, July 30, according to the town's online calendar.
SCHOOLS
Saugus Public Schools has posted its FY27 School Committee-approved budget along with an FY27 budget timeline on the district website, giving families a look at spending plans for the coming fiscal year. The superintendent's office, led by Michael Hashem, continues to post updates through the "News & Announcements" section of the district site as the district calendar for 2026-27 takes shape.
