HAMILTON — The Hamilton Historic District Commission voted unanimously to preserve original 19th-century window trim on a renovation at 625 Bay Road. Members said site visits and historic photos from the Hamilton Historical Society showed the trim was likely original to the home's Greek Revival construction, calling it "a physical artifact of an aesthetic that existed at that time." The board also heard a lengthy, non-binding presentation from resident group Hamilton Dark Sky on a proposed lighting bylaw, which would cap residential fixtures at 1,500 lumens, commercial at 5,000 lumens, set a 3,000 Kelvin color-temperature limit and require lights out by 10 p.m. Presenter Anne Giroux said the Select Board will review the group's recommendations November 2 ahead of a possible April Town Meeting warrant article.
The commission separately approved, in one motion, minutes from three earlier 2026 meetings.
