Boxford Posts Update on North Shore Regional 911 Dispatch Transition

BOXFORD — Boxford's town government flagged an update Monday on the transition to North Shore Regional 911 dispatch service and put out a call for residents willing to staff the polls ahead of the state primary in September.

TOWN HALL The town's website posted a new item Monday directing residents to details on the transition to North Shore Regional 911, the regional dispatch consolidation expected to change how Boxford's emergency calls are handled. The posting did not include further specifics beyond a linked update.

Separately, the town is recruiting residents to serve as election workers ahead of the September 1, 2026, state primary, with sample ballots for that election now posted to the town website. Residents interested in working the polls were asked to email the Town Clerk's office at RPhelan@BoxfordMA.gov.

COMMUNITY & ARTS Boxford Public Library's summer reading program is underway, with the library encouraging both children and adults to sign up. Library card holders can also stream through Kanopy and Hoopla Digital and borrow e-books and audiobooks through the Libby app, all included with a Boxford Town Library card.

The town is also hosting a free Concert on the Lawn at the Holyoke-French House on Saturday, July 25, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

COMING UP Several town boards meet this week: the Recreation Committee on Tuesday, July 21; the Permanent Building Committee on Wednesday, July 22; and both the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Conservation Commission on Thursday, July 23.

On Saturday, July 25, the town's Touch a Truck event runs alongside the Concert on the Lawn at the Holyoke-French House.
